Bre + Jake = True Love :)The big day finally came and if you loved Bre and Jake’s formals from last week, then this post is for you! Their wedding is here on the blog and it was such an amazing event! Bre and Jake were married on a gorgeous late winter/early spring day in the Salt Lake Temple and you can just feel the happiness and love in these pictures (which, by the way, all photo cred for these gorgeous images goes to Ashley Hawkes with Hawkeye Photography. The thing I love about her work is that her images are so full of artistry, but she still captures individual personality…you’ll see what I’m talking about as you scroll down :) They spent their day surrounded by loving family and friends. The entire atmosphere was a great combination of love, romance, and celebration. Absolutely dreamy. *Sigh* I'm not even going to pretend I'm not a hopeless romantic. Bre and Jake chose a cream, pale pink, and burgundy color palette and seeing the whole wedding party brought it all together so neatly. We switched up some of the elements of her bouquet for the actual wedding day, so that it was a little more loose and romantic, and I’m loving the overall effect. Very soft, very feminine. Plus, this new trend of all the greens??? I’m in heaven! They’re such a great way to add movement and texture to a bouquet and I love how Bre’s flowers keep a loosely-rounded shape, but then use the greens to spill over and bring in some dimension. It definitely keeps the flowers from looking flat in the pictures. But really, I can't get over her veil... K maybe this is a silly thing to notice, but the thing I love most about this pic? Their lipstick shades. Yup. I'm not a lipstick wearer myself (I prefer gloss) but I can appreciate a nice lipstick color, and those lips are spot on. Totally kiss-able you guys. And all the handsome Groomsmen :) And then with a handful of siblings like these, I don't think any of the pictures are going to lack for fun and personality :) With six married siblings of my own, I remember LOVING their weddings and having the best time! But for parents, it's probably a little more bitter-sweet. Such a meaningful expression of the love parents have for their children right here in this moment. We're happy to watch them grow and progress, but dang girl it's hard. I can't even imagine protecting and watching over my babies all these years and then having to stand back and turn it over to someone else. I know my husband is gonna be bawlin' like a baby if and when our little girls get married...someday...far far far into the future. Don't tell my main man that his secret is out. He's totally the crier in our relationship. And after such a sweet ceremony it's time to party! The rest of the wedding day, complete with a luncheon and reception were hosted and catered by The Grand View Reception and Event Center in Ogden, Utah. I can't say enough good things about The Grand View! The building was beautiful and clean (random I know but that's a biggie for me. I can't stand going into venues that are gorgeous, but dusty, dirty, grimy, and cob-webby...don't even get me started about the venue that didn't shovel their walks for a winter wedding I did this last year!) and it was perfectly decorated. I loved the blend of urban, industrial, and rustic that the room took on because it can go with just about any wedding style without looking out of place. Super classy. Also, the pricing was spot on. I feel like every penny for the venue was worth it. They had spectacular bride and groom rooms for the lovely HMUA's Julie and Sadie to work their magic...and catch a bite to eat! Aren't these girls gorgeous? I love seeing them all decked out in dresses, flowers, shoes, hair...every detail is perfect! And these flower girls are killin' me. Because it's not a party unless someone's crying :) Check out their tiny little flower girl halos. Bre and Jake are so lucky to have found each other! We decked out the reception in garlands and roses. The Grand View had these amazing farmhouse tables that looked perfect with cream colored runners and garlands make of italian ruscus and seeded eucalyptus. And then, before you know it, the day has flown by and it's time to cut the cake. We did a four-tier cake and starting from the bottom Bre and Jake chose Chocolate Nutella, Vanilla Raspberry, Lemon Cream Cheese, and a top tier of Vanilla Raspberry. I love love the rustic frosting with a greenery wreath wrap around each tier, with the accents of roses and curly willows. It really tied together all the florals. Plus, that cake stand! My husband made me the tree ring cake stand last summer and it has been such a big hit. Here's a close up: Is your mouth watering yet? Cause mine just started :) It's always such a great reward when the entire cake gets eaten and enjoyed. In the words of Julia Childs, "A party without cake is just a meeting." Truer words were never spoken. I love this spread that Ashley put together. It encompasses everything that I love and do. I love weddings. I love watching people be in love. And I love making those weddings beautiful...and tasty :) Congrats Bre and Jake on your wedding day. I'm so thrilled I got to be a part of such an amazing event! Thanks for sharing it with me! Enjoy!
